Here is a picture of the updated design for the Shadwell Soundwaves benches. The stone benches will have glass panels with lights coming out of them... The light will change colour when people walk past according to a preprogrammed sequence, and also at different times of the year, e.g. religious festivals.
So far the artist has been working with... Bangladeshi Youth Movement, Docker’s Club, Watney Market Library Book Group, LinkAge Plus at Sonali Gardens, Tarling Residents’ Association, Somali Action Forum, residents at Lady Mico's Almshouses and parents at Bigland Primary School, and having lots of interesting conversations about life in Shadwell, past and present!
